Margaret F. Bibbs, age 78, beloved wife of the late Robert L.; loving mother of Robert (Carol) Bibbs, David (Katie) Bibbs, son-in-law, Peter Holmes; the late Barbara Holmes; and dear grandmother of Emily (Andrew) Nordstrom, Elizabeth and Carolyn Holmes, Jennifer, Melissa, Mary and Will Bibbs; fond sister of Shirley Crandall of Riverwoods. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, April 23 at 4 p.m., at The Union Church in Lake Bluff. Interment will be private. Margaret F. Bibbs, 78, of St. Charles, formerly of Lake Bluff and Destin, Florida, died after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease March 30 in Rosewood Care Center in St. Charles. She was born Nov. 26, 1926 in Waukegan, the daughter of Norton and Margaret (Howard) Flood.

She graduated magna cum laude in 1948 from Lake Forest College. She was a resident of Lake Bluff for 35 years and took great pride in being a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Union Church of Lake Bluff and after moving to St. Charles to be near he daughter, she became a member of Baker Memorial United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Carol) Bibbs of Virginia Beach, Virginia, David (Katie) Bibbs of Lake Forest and her son-in-law, Peter Holmes of St. Charles; seven grandchildren; and her sister, Shirley Crandall of Riverwoods.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert L. Bibbs on March 4, 1999 and her daughter, Barbara Holmes, Oct. 29, 2004.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 4 p.m., April 23 at the Union Church in Lake Bluff. Interment will be private.

Contributions in Mrs. Bibbs memory may be made to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 6th floor, New York, NY 10001.

Arrangements are by the Norris Funeral Home, St. Charles.2
