DIED ON HIS BIRTHDAY
James Timmons, of Dayton, Lived Just 78 Years
James Timmons, aged 78 years, formerly a hotel-keeper in Dayton township, died at his home at 10 o’clock this morning after an illness of one year, due to old age.
The funeral will be held from the home in Dayton at 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon. Interment will be made in the Dayton cemetery.
Mr. Timmons was born in Scotland 78 years ago today – April 15th. When but 8 years old he removed to this country, taking up his residence in New York. Forty years ago he removed to Dayton township, where he had since resided.
Mr. Timmons leaves no survivors, his wife having died 12 years ago, and the three children born to them are also dead.
Mr. Timmons was well known in Ottawa and vicinity. He was a civil war veteran.1
