FORMER SERENA RESIDENT DIES

Mrs. Lillie Hoag Carter, 76, a former resident of Serena, died yesterday at the British Old People’s home in Brookfield, where she had been a resident for two years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p. m. tomorrow at the A. C. Hill funeral home in Sheridan. Burial will be in the Dayton cemetery.

Born in Serena township, Dec. 25, 1863, Mrs. Carter, whose maiden name was Lilllie Hoag, was the daughter of Charles and Mary Wells Hoag. She resided in the township for many years.

Mrs. Carter is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Irene Scamehorn of Chicago; two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. P. B. Stockham and a brother, Adam Hoag, both of Bloomingdale, Mich.¹
